FERNDOWN UNITED CHURCH - PRESS RELEASE
Ferndown United Church is delighted to announce that the Rev. Mike Roberts has accepted the invitation of the Church to become its next Minister. He, together with his wife Sarah, will move to Ferndown towards the end of July.
Mike thinks that being a pastor is one of the greatest privileges in life, together with being alongside people on their life journey . He served as student pastor in Streatham, South London before heading north for five years in West Yorkshire. His passion in church life is breaking down the walls between a church and its community and communicating clearly the message of God’s love. Outside of church he enjoys exploring new places, and sitting down with a good book to relax.
Sarah is a 25 year old secondary school teacher with a love of Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Harry Potter. She first met Michael in London whilst working as an actor, travelling to local schools to help them to understand what it means to be a community.
She grew up by the sea and loves to have adventures across Britain and abroad. Sarah once skated with Torvil and Dean and if she could have any magical power it would be to fly so she could visit the penguins in Antarctica. She loves working with children and has a heart to see people of all ages enjoying coming to Church and being part of the family.
